Welcome to Sport Diver's exclusive virtual tour of the Seaview Hotel, Grand Cayman's coziest little dedicated dive resort. This hotel and dive center has been specifically designed to provide first class diving services at affordable prices. Come along and we will show you what it is like....     This is the entrance to the Seaview Hotel, located on South Church Street, about one mile south of George Town Harbour. You can't miss the little white picket fence that surrounds this Cayman style architecture, painted in pastel colors. Convenient location is one of Seaview's many attractions. It is close enough to town for shopping, dining or submarine tours, yet sufficiently private to create an intimate atmosphere.       At the Seaview's front desk you are likely to meet Will Kelly, Seaview's General Manager. If you don't see him here, you will probably meet him somewhere on the hotel property. He is continually circling around, checking on guest services, how meals are prepared, how the rooms look and most everything else. Will is a diver himself and so he knows what divers want.   This is one of Seaview's 15 rooms. It is clean, comfortable and inexpensive. Most people who stay at the Seaview want to spend their money on diving instead of luxury hotel accommodations. While they may be modestly priced, Seaview rooms offer the basic amenities: telephone, air-conditioning, ceiling fan and private bathroom. Seaview's swimming pool and adjacent open air restaurant stands side-by-side, with a magnificent view of the Caribbean Sea. This is the area in which divers frequently relax, have a soda and read a book in between dives. It's comfortable, cozy and quaint. If you don't like direct sunlight, there are plenty of tropical trees on the property that provide shade. Seaview's open air restaurant sits up high on a wood deck, providing guests with a magnificent view of the ocean, as passing ships headed for George Town Harbour. The restaurant is open for breakfast, lunch, afternoon cocktails and dinner. The weather in Grand Cayman is so good that there is no need for eating indoors. Located on the hotel property, adjacent to the bar and restaurant is Seaview's dive center. Owned and operated by Bob Soto's Diving Ltd., this cute little dive center offers the full range of services including an air compressor, rental tanks, scuba gear rental, all levels of dive instruction, gear washing facilities and secure gear storage for Seaview guests. Dive center Operations Manager Chad Bremner is always on hand to rent dive gear or sign people up for daily boat trips or provide advanced scuba instruction to those who want to know more about diving. This is where you sign up for dive trips and provide Chad with your C-Card information. Daily dive boat trips often depart from the Seaview Pier or the Bob Soto's dive bus picks you up for a short trip to the Bob Soto's Headquarters pier or North Sound facility. Bob Soto's has a total of 8 dive boats that are strategically positioned for short boat rides to the West Wall, North Wall or South Wall. These vessels are custom built specifically for diving.     Diving from a Bob Soto's dive boat is as easy as stepping off the curb. All boats are equipped with large stern dive platforms or front drop down ramps. The staff are cordial and friendly, assisting guests in entering the water, as well as returning from the dive. Every boat is equipped with large dive ladders for safe reboarding. One of the most enjoyable things about Seaview, is sitting by the open sea while you dine on a luscious cheeseburger, Philly steak sandwich or grilled fish. Dining between dives is easy and very casual. No need to dress up, everybody is a diver at this resort. If you want to rest and relax, Seaview offers an opportunity to snooze in a hammock that is strung between two palm trees. There are also picnic tables, where divers can sit and talk about their day of undersea adventure. When it comes to shore diving, the Seaview Hotel offers some of the best. A large concrete platform at the edge of the ironshore provides a comfortable and safe way to enter the water. Just a few fin strokes will take you out to the beginning of the shallow reef in just 10 feet of water. Continue swimming and you will soon enter a marvelous, meandering pattern of coral ridges and sand channels - loaded with fish life.
