BONAIRE – WHAT TO BRING

Documents As of 2007, U.S. citizens and Canadian nationals will need a valid passport for air entry, and starting in 2009, travelers by sea will also require passports or other acceptable documentation. Check out these links for more information:

What to Pack
Being just 12 degrees north of the Equator means you'll need lots of sunscreen, even for those who normally don't burn…caution is the key in Bonaire's climate.

  • Dive gear (rentals are readily available)
  • 3mm shorty wetsuit
  • Floppy hat
  • Sunscreen (lots of it)
  • Casual summer wear
  • Sturdy shoes for walking or hiking
  • U.S dollar is accepted most places and banks and ATMs are available (the currency is the NA Florin or Guilder)
  • Bathing suits and cover-ups (dress is conservative unless you stay at your resort)
  • Most U.S. appliances will work here, but some dive shops have adapters for sensitive photo equipment
