CLIMATE
The British Virgin Islands are located just 18 degrees north of the equator, and are considered sub-tropical in nature, with temperatures that fluctuate very little during the calendar year. You can expect:
- Temperatures of about 75 to 82 degrees most of the year, with warmer temperatures in the summer
- Rainfall can occur at any time, but is most frequent in the fall months
- Hurricane season is between June and November, with most storms occurring in September
- Gentle trade winds all year keep humidity levels down
- Weather is calmer between April and August, making for clear diving conditions

WHAT TO BRING
Entry requirements
Non-BVI residents may enter for up to 60 days as long as they provide the following:
- A return or ongoing ticket
- Means of adequate support
- Pre-arranged accommodations while visiting
- U.S. citizens need a passport to re-enter the U.S. More on entry requirements can be found at bvitourism.com.
- Citizens of certain countries must obtain a visa from the BVI government.

CUSTOMS
There is a ban on bringing meat products into the islands, but personal items and a limited number of cigarettes and alcohol are considered safe to bring into the islands. WHAT TO PACK
The temperatures in the British Virgin Islands are mild with cooler nights, and there is an occasional rain shower. Bring the basics, but here is a general rule of thumb for what to bring with you when traveling to the BVI:Necessities might include:
- Caribbean casual clothing, with sweaters or light jackets for cooler nights
- Sunscreen
- Floppy hat
- Bathing suits
- Cover-ups (the island is on the conservative side)
- Sunglasses
- Sandals for beach-days
- Bug spray or lotion
- C-card
- Passport
- Disposable cameras
- Electricity is 110/220 so you may bring your U.S. appliances, if desired
