Dive Travel Planner - Cayman Islands

Grand Cayman measures 22 miles by 7 miles and is home to about 30,000 residents. George Town is the islands' capital and is considered a major offshore financial center with more than 500 banks and 300 insurance companies. Featured tourist hot-spots include Seven Mile Beach with its modern hotels and condominiums; West Bay, a small town north of the beach with picturesque churches, homes and shops; and the south coast between Savannah and Bodden Town.Cayman Brac - 90 miles east - is pea-pod shaped and measures 12 miles long by a mile wide. Limestone bluffs dominate the eastern side of the island, where cliffs rise to 140 feet. About 1,500 people live on the island; most on the north side. Brac has caves to explore as well as modern resorts and a few local restaurants.Little Cayman, just 5 miles west of Brac, is only slightly smaller than that sister island. The island is mostly level with mangrove forests and shallow-water flats. The island has telephones and power and a few shops, but little else. Its peaceful solitude combined with lush reefs draws divers searching for a more remote experience.Source: Diving Cayman Islands by Jesse Cancelmo. Tourist Board Information... Operators......
