Getting There

By Air
Because of its close proximity to the United States, and because the Bahamas themselves provide approximately 57 airports, getting there is easy for most travelers. The largest three international airports are:

  • Nassau/Paradise Island
  • Grand Bahama
  • Exhumas
  • And, there are 24 official ports of entry

As a result, there are a wide variety of airlines and charters flying into and out of the Bahamas on a regular basis. You can check the Island of the Bahamas website for more information on scheduled airline services to the islands, or visit one of the online travel websites like Travelocity or Kayak.

By Sea
Cruising to the Bahamas has to be one of the most popular itineraries for many cruise lines, and as a result, there are a host of packages and travel specials available on a daily basis. Depending on the time of year and port of departure, cruise lines offer travel to the main islands with side trips, travel to out islands and shore excursions including:

  • Snorkeling
  • Scuba diving
  • Fishing
  • Water sports
  • Historical tours
  • Shopping
  • Biking
  • Eco-tours
