What to ExpectCurrents are mild to non-existent, and the visibility is consistently 100 feet but can reach 200 feet.Water temps range from mid-70s to mid 80s, although air temps range from a wintertime mid-70s to 90 degrees in the summer. Shore diving is limited, but snorkeling can be excellent. Deep depths and steep vertical walls allow for large sponges, thriving corals and occasional shark encounters, while the 18th-century wreck HMS Endymion lies off of the shallow western shore of Salt Cay. The Turks Island Passage that flows between the two island chains hosts humpback whales, dolphins, spotted eagle rays, mantas and turtles.
