Made famous when Charles Darwin published "The Origin of Species" almost 150 years ago, the Galapagos Islands remain a treasure-trove of critters that can't be seen anywhere else in the world. From tiny nudibranchs to awe-inspiring sperm whales, from playful sea lions to both marine and terrestrial iguanas, this place is teeming with life – above and below the water. There's so much to see, in fact, that Ed Robinson's Diving Adventures is offering a chance for divers to spend 14 days on the live-aboard M/V Sky Dancer exploring the islands – the longest trip they've ever planned.
Beginning on July 30 and lasting until August 15, the trip is scheduled to take advantage of peak season for hammerhead and whale sharks on Wolf and Darwin Islands. The extended journey will also allow divers to spend more quality time at Roca Redonda, which Peter Hughes calls "the fishiest and sharkiest place in the entire Galapagos."
