Nobody Does The Coral Triangle Like The Dancer Fleet®
This region of the world is as beautiful and exotic as the seas which touch its shores: Sulu, Celebes, Bismarck, Timor, Solomon, Java, Sulawesi, South China, Philippine, Molucca, and Arafura...
Consider these simple facts:
- More than 600 different species of coral are found here, representing 75% of all known coral species in the world. New corals are also being discovered at a rapid rate.
- The Caribbean Sea, by comparison, has 62 reef building corals...
- More than 3,000 species of fish have been identified in this area alone, a degree of diversity not matched anywhere in the world. (Source: The Nature Conservancy)
Where is this place? This is the Coral Triangle, and it is comprised of portions of Papua New Guinea, Indonesia, The Solomon Islands, The Philippines, and Malaysia. Roughly half the size of the continental USA, this region represents a concentration of marine life so diverse that every serious dive traveler should put the region at the top of their travel wish list.
While other live-aboard destinations might have concentrations of specific big animals, or spectacular coral formations and unique marine life, diving in the Coral Triangle matches all of these experiences plus offers a degree of marine biodiversity simply not seen in other destinations around the world. Of course, we've been diving the Coral Triangle for some years now, and have new itineraries in place for both this year and next. But there's an even trickier question to ask: "Where is the best diving in the Coral Triangle?"
That one is tough to answer. However, Peter Hughes Diving® has more vessels, and more itineraries in the Coral Triangle than any other live-aboard operator in diving. So the best answer is for you to come aboard and be your own judge!
