Located in the Indian Ocean, the Maldives is comprised of over 1200 islands many with the classic "postcard view" of pure white sand beaches and palm trees. The Ocean Dancer dive season runs from November to April of each year. The Ocean Dancer was constructed by, and is owned and operated by David Mesnard, our local partner in the Maldives. David is a larger than life "Water-Man" who has been diving these waters for the past 19 years.
The Ocean Dancer offers a unique live-aboard experience that focuses on the quality of every dive and offers 3 dives a day plus a night dive 2-3 nights a week. The Ocean Dancer season operates in the prime diving months of November through April each year. November through January brings the opportunity to see whale sharks, while Mantas can be found December through April. The visibility and fish life are best from February through April. The Ocean Dancer itinerary cruises to North Male, South Male and Ari Atolls, where currents and tides flush water through the channels creating exhilarating drift dives. Fast tidal flows attract sharks, rays and schools of pelagics for which the Maldives are renowned. Over 70 different species of colorful corals encrust the walls and channels of the atolls. The sheer quantity of the marine life observed in these waters is truly spectacular.
