I'm not the geekiest James Bond fan but I like my 007. So much so that I make a point of seeing each new Bond movie in theaters; the 23rd installment, Skyfall, due out in November, will be no exception.
As a diver, I'm even more amped for the movie after watching this short behind-the-scenes video from 007.com. It's not your ordinary behind-the-scenes trailer because this one takes us underwater. We get to experience the set and see Bond performing his breath-holding stunts as Underwater Director of Photography Mike Valentine narrates the process of getting the lighting right, directing the actors and shooting the scenes underwater. Dive Coordinator Dave Shaw, First Assistant Director Michael Lerman, and Stunt Coordinator Gary Powell bring us even deeper into the fun.
My job as Editor-in-Chief is awesome, but director of underwater photography seems pretty danged cool right now.
