Congratulations to Stephanie Ilner, the worldwide winner of the 2009 worldwide Go PRO Challenge Testimonial Contest. Ilner, a PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor originally from Belgium now working in Aguascalientes, Mexico, takes home the $10,000 US grand prize. View the winning video at padi.com.

Congratulations are also due to first runner-up Bianca Hoang, who took home $1500 US. Her video submission tells of humble beginnings and how she developed her passion for living the dive life by working as a PADI Divemaster in Hawaii, USA.

Competition was fierce for the top slots among the many outstanding entries and you can see many of them at padi.com in the coming months. If you missed out on the 2009 contest, you're in luck because the 2010 Go PRO Challenge Testimonial Contest is on. This year, there will be 25 winners from the PADI Americas and PADI Canada region and you can submit a captioned photo, video or written testimonial. Record Breaking Dive Against Debris Event in Thailand
September's Debris Month of Action saw thousands of divers across the world gear up and dive in to remove dangerous rubbish, nets, fishing traps and household waste from our ocean. On the island of Phuket, Thailand, new records in the fight against debris were smashed on 30th September. Over 650 AWARE divers and beach cleaners took part in the biggest Dive Against Debris event in the world with PADI dive centers working together as part of a recently formed group called Go Eco Phuket.
