PADI congratulates Edward (Ted) Anger, winner of the 2009 Go PRO Challenge Professional Rating contest - and of the DOXA SUB 5000T Seaconqueror Professional dive watch valued at $2990 US!

Ted came out on top in the PADI Americas and Canada region, earning the most points by acquiring professional ratings and certifying student divers. But, Ted isn't the only winner; he'll be joined by 165 other PADI Pros who earned a 2009 Go PRO Challenge Winner's Circle jacket by earning at least 100 points in the contest. “I'm surprised and honored that I came in first,” says Ted, who now teaches diving for Barefoot Divers in Brick Bay, Roatan, Bay Islands, Honduras.”

The Challenge continues with the 2010 Go PRO Challenge Testimonial Contest. You can participate by earning a PADI professional rating by 30 September and submitting your own testimonial to being a PADI Pro “For the Love of it!” Be the best to communicate your passion for the dive life and you might take home a PADI-branded Apple iPod Nanos®, 2010 Winner's Circle jacket or professional membership renewal.

Record Breaking Dive Against Debris Event in Thailand
September's Debris Month of Action saw thousands of divers across the world gear up and dive in to remove dangerous rubbish, nets, fishing traps and household waste from our ocean. On the island of Phuket, Thailand, new records in the fight against debris were smashed on 30th September. Over 650 AWARE divers and beach cleaners took part in the biggest Dive Against Debris event in the world with PADI dive centers working together as part of a recently formed group called Go Eco Phuket.
