We’re inching toward our goal of 100,000 signatures by June 8th, World Ocean Day. But urgent political action to protect sharks is still needed - now more than ever.

Your shark signatures are already on the move. Just days ago, we met with the Head of the Species Conservation Unit in Australia, and the International Policy Advisor for the U.S. Office of International Affairs, to talk about shark protection and share Project AWARE’s “Give Shark a Fighting Chance” petition campaign.

Your signatures have received serious attention from government meetings in the United Kingdom, Europe, Australia and the United States. Following these meetings, one thing was clear - divers are increasingly seen as a major constituency and are giving critical shark populations a louder voice.

We’re asking for your help in securing 100,000 shark petition signatures by June 8th. As a diver and ocean friend, you can play a key role in helping us reach our goal.

Here are a few new tools to help us get there:
1. If you haven’t already done so, please sign the petition.

2. Use the new shark petition tools to collect signatures from your shark-friendly dive buddies and colleagues or during your scuba courses or club events. Add the new banners, widgets and other tools to your e-newsletter, social media or website plans.
 
3. Tag at least 5 other shark fans and ask them to do the same.
