Nearly 25,000 divers to date agree – sharks need urgent protection. Project AWARE Foundation launched an exciting petition demanding governments worldwide take action for sharks and give them the protection they deserve.

During March 2010 CITES meetings, governments ignored scientific evidence and advice, favouring short-term economic interests over long-term conservation benefits. Despite set-backs for eight critical shark species, Project AWARE advocates are helping even the score for sharks in places like Palau, Maldives and Europe.
