We're heading to the most diverse and culturally rich island in the Caribbean, Puerto Rico, in June 2008 (June 19-28) and we're bringing our favorite people our readers!
Bring your cameras, your pen and your sense of adventure and you will be able to submit your story and images to Sport Diver.
The Adventurer with the best story will get to see his/her work in the magazine. We'll take along the first 18 Sport Diver readers that sign up for this exclusive and one-of-a-kind event trip to discover the Passions of Puerto Rico diving, cultural heritage, natural heritage, music and food --- with Sport Diver's Editor, Ty Sawyer and Sport Diver award winning contributing photographer, Amos Nachoum. There will also be special Guests from Puerto Rico, PADI and more.
Participants of this unique trip will be able to submit a story and photographs for possible publication in Sport Diver, as well as their videos for the web, and be able to tell their story every night along the way with team blogs. Incredible prizes will be given away for the best chosen photo's/videos throughout the trip.
The "assignment" will grant readers access to an unprecedented array of adventures we'll explore the pristine undersea worlds of Desecheo Island, La Parguera Wall and spend two unbelievable days of non-stop adventure above and below Mona Island, which has been called the Galapagos of the Caribbean.
Between dives we'll get exclusive entrée to explore the famous river and caverns of Camuy, get a behind the scenes peek into the inner workings of Arecibo, discover the real Gilligan's Island, explore rainforest waterfalls, zip-line across jungle rivers and horseback ride on deserted beaches . Travelers will be given daily seminars, tips and techniques from Amos Nachoum, Ty Sawyer and special guests. At the end of the event, we'll all search for stories in Old San Juan, then join together for an exclusive night of culture, food and music at the base of the famous buttress of this 400-year old walled city, hosted by Puerto Rico.
Only 18 travelers will be granted access to this once in a lifetime adventure tour and special assignment.

We're looking for readers with a great sense of adventure, able to be flexible and go non-stop while you pursue the perfect story for Sport Diver magazine. We'll be camping (Mona Island), hiking, diving in remote locations, eating incredible local fare, exploring rainforest and seeking adventures that help tell the true and authentic story and passions that make Puerto Rico unique. You will be getting an actual letter of assignment from the Editor for this story. So be ready to do what it takes to go on the job for Sport Diver magazine.
