Aruba offers an amazing variety of wreck dives The first island in the ABC chain, Aruba is popular with scuba divers and watersports enthusiasts.Located 19 miles off the coast of Venezuela, Aruba is a destination with white sand beaches and cooling breezes. Her beautiful coral reefs are overshadowed by a more awesome undersea attraction.Aruba offers an amazing variety of wreck dives. The Antilla, a WWII vessel is situated in such a way that it can be explored by snorkelers and divers, a few airplanes scatter the ocean floor, as well as the remains of the California. Other wreck dives include the Jane Sea, Pedernalis, Pilot Boat, Sonesta Airplane (Convair 240) and Debbie II fuel barge.. Visibility ranges from 50-100 feet depending on currents and plankton, but divers need not worry about swift drifts. For the best dive sites hook up with one of the local dive shops. The Aruba Tourism Authority published a guide to the island's best-known dive sites. For more information about diving Aruba, click onto Red Sail Sports' home page below.
