VIDEO: Divetech Grand Cayman

Divetech's dive shop at Lighthouse Point "2011Governor's Award" is all solar powered and has no electric bill and also has no water bill as we collect 100% of rain water in a large cistern, then filtered & chlorinated for toilets, showers, boat dock and scuba gear rinse tank. The building uses recycled materials like reclaimed brick, recycled concrete and sustainable timbering (for ever tree cut down, certified that tree was planted) recycled glass for counter tops, just to name a few items. The complete "Green" list is in the submittal application in the press release. From the research I have done, I'm very confident we are the first dive shop to be 100% sustainable and with "Carbon-Free" power.

On the World Travel & Tourism Council "Tourism for Tomorrow Award 2012" we have only been nominated, with the short list to be announced in January 2012 and winners in March 2012. Me and Nancy feel we should wait to see how we do in this award.
