Daytrips
Diversity Diving organizes daily excursions to different dive sites in- and around Playa del Carmen and the Riviera Maya.
Some known highlights of diving in Mexico are the lively and colorful local reefs, the deep and impressive reefs around the famous island of Cozumel and the mysterious waters of the ancient Mayan caves.. known as CENOTES
The boat leaves daily at 09.00 from our nearby mooring area for a 2-tank dive, and comes back between 12.00 and 12.30. Most of the dive sites are comfortably closeby.
We have a second 2-tank dive planned for 13.00 this one comes back between 16.00 and 16.30
We have the explicit preference to work with small groups.
Maximum 2 groups of 5 divers with their own instructor as a guide.. so 12 divers, is what we consider a full boat.
For our Cenote tours, we leave in one of our pick-up trucks to the, in the jungle located caverns.
Our guides are specially qualified full cave divers through respected organizations for technical diving. They are diving their full cave equipment in the caverns, while you enjoy your regular gear. This to ensure safety for our guests.
Attention: there is NO special training nor equipment necessary for guided cavern diving.
For our Cozumel daytrips we meet in the dive center and we’ll take the ferry at 09.00 to cross to the island.
After an impressive dive day you get the opportunity to check out Cozumel a bit, before we take the 16.00 ferry back to the main land.

Extra info
In the heart of the summer temperatures can rise above well 30C, but because other climate related factors, many of our guests enjoy it very much.
The water temperature of the ocean is around 29C, (between 27 and 31) the whole year round.
The water in the cenotes is permanently cooler, therefore we recommend to wear a 3mm long suit here. These suits are for rent of sale at the dive base.
The official currency is the Mexican peso, but American dollars are generally accepted as the ‘2nd official coin’ . Therefore we consider it recommendable to carry both dollars and pesos in your wallet.
Having a hard time to change pesos before your trip? Don’t spend too much valuable time looking for them.. bring (or change) dollars instead. Every ATM/money machine (locally known as Cajero) gives pesos out, but only few give dollars too.
