For 2005 the Phantom dive light head is designed to be the smallest in the world, incorporates a NEW magnetic ON/OFF switch (This eliminates leak prone rubber covered toggle switches), and eliminates one more potential failure point that other lights have. Special bulb dampening is incorporated to protect the bulb against breakage and the front lens retention system prevents leakage. A new high reliability abrasion resistant cord system with captured O-Rings has been implemented to dramatically reduce the possibility of seal or cord failure. Safety features include a NEW thermal cutoff switch and integral switch lock that have been added to prevent overheating and potential gear meltdown.
The SMART ™ 4 Ah and 8 Ah NiMH batteries utilize Thermisters and special high cycle "Click" devices to protect against thermal run-away and overcharging (we suggest that you follow the recommended charging procedures as outlined in the owners manual). The lightweight Charger has a plug kit that allows use in the: UK, Europe, and Australia, in addition to the standard USA plug.
The light head can be held in your hand or you can affix the optional Goodman Handle. Additionally there is an area to fasten an optional swivel snap to your light so that the light head can be mounted to your harness D-Ring. Waist mounting is also possible by utilizing a piece of webbing mounted between the (2) stainless steel bands.
