Are you looking for the perfect diving getaway, where you can see cool animals, improve your underwater photographic skills, win some great prizes and make some new diving friends? Then head to Kona, Hawaii, for the fourth annual Kona Classic 2005, May 14-21, for nonstop diving, underwater photography, seminars and socializing.
This event is sponsored by Body Glove, Aqua Lung and a variety of dive operators in Kona that welcome underwater photographers of all experience levels. Some of the award categories to be presented include: Best Animal Portrait; Best Macro Image; Best Wide-Angle Image; Best Topside Photo; Best Creative Image; Best Diver Image; Best Point and Shoot; Best Overall Image of the Competition - digital image or 35 mm slide; and Best Video. All categories will have a first, second and third place except Best Overall Image.
Photo Pros will be diving with participants and giving seminars on underwater photography and videography. There will be special presentations on Digital Photography including photoshop. Packages include 5 days - 2 tank dives and one Special Manta Ray NIght Dive, daily seminars and critiques, nightly parties, awards banquet, Body Glove Sunset Cruise, and a Film Festival featuring all the photo pros best images from around the world.
Photo Pros include: Jim Watt, David Fleetham, Marty Snyderman, and Sport Divers editor Ty Sawyer.
The package price of $1314 per person, double occupancy is based on:
- 8 nights Garden/Mountainview room at the Royal Kona Resort
- 5 days 2 tank boat dives
