FitzWright was founded in Canada in 1972 as a designer and manufacturer of neoprene diving suits for the North American market, under the FitzWright brand. In 1980, the BARE brand was launched and the product offering was expanded to include surface watersports, specifically windsurfing. In 1998, a second factory was opened in Malta to service the company's growing European business. Today, the company offers wetsuits, drysuits, BCDs, mask/snorkel/fins, survival suits and surface watersports products in over 50 countries worldwide.
