Keen aviators, plane spotters and private pilots may be tempted to include the Cayman Islands in their flight plans next month, as the first 'Cayman Islands Fly In' set for February 22-25, 2008, the first in several years. This will be followed by a second 'Fly In' on a grander scale from June 6-10.

Historically regarded as one of the most popular dates in the destination's calendar for both spectators and pilots, both events are once again anticipated to attract aviation enthusiasts from all round the world.

Pilots wishing to participate in the first 'Cayman Islands Fly In' must be in Key West by February 21st, where discounted accommodations can be booked at the Doubletree Key West Resort. The 'Fly In' departs Key West after a breakfast briefing at 8:30am on February 22nd, bound for Grand Cayman. The flight is a two and a half hour journey, flying over Cuba and across the stunning reef system that surrounds the Cayman Islands, a destination renowned for its pristine beaches and superb diving.

Upon arrival, a rum punch reception and group dinner awaits, followed by a range of optional discounted activities ranging from an onward flight to Little Cayman, snorkeling and diving, a trip to Stingray City or just enjoying the tropical climate.

The operator behind the Fly In, CaribbeanFlyingAdventures.com, provides an escort pilot, documents, charts, Cuban over flight permits, safety gear and negotiated hotel rates both in Key West and upon arrival at the Grand Cayman Marriott Beach Resort.

The cost to register is US$300 per plane. Enquiries should be addressed to jim@caribbeanflyingadventures.com.
