Christian Clark, the 2011 North American winner of the Our World-Underwater Scholarship sponsored by Rolex, spent some time with filmmaker, cave diver and Women Divers Hall of Famer Jill Heinerth as part of his scholarship year, for some mentoring on cave diving and filmmaking. Heinerth gave him a trial by fire, using Clark as a stunt double for scenes for her upcoming film Ben’s Vortex. “Christian is a soft-spoken guy, but his eyes spoke volumes when we descended into the clarity of his first underwater cave. I knew he was hooked,” Heinerth recalls.
Cayman Island Tourism Association is once again hosting its Annual Underwater Film Festival, Monday 7th November, 2011 at the Westin Casuarina Resort & Spa in the Governor’s Ballroom. The evening will feature 3 International underwater films and local features by CITA. The Underwater Film Festival coincides with the on island visit of the 2011 inductees into the International Scuba Diving Hall, giving our Film Festival attendees the opportunity to meet some celebrities in the diving world and hear them personally introduce their films.
The International Scuba Diving Hall of Fame recognised four extraordinary
individuals for their outstanding contributions to the sport of scuba diving
at the fifth annual Dinner and Induction Ceremony, held earlier this month.
