Mike Ball Dive Expeditions Minke Whale season on the Barrier Reef has been brought to a very successful finale with Minke numbers proving consistent and impressive throughout.
The interactions were noted as particularly lengthy and significant with sightings predominant at Lighthouse Bommie, Pixie Pinnacle and Two Towers. On average, divers had been seeing 5-8 whales per encounter over the season, with as many as fifteen on one dive. The official Minke Whale season starts on the 14th of June with only 10 dedicated expeditions. To avoid disappointment, booking in advance is highly recommended.
