Palau's western lagoon is the final resting place for more than 50 warships of the Japanese Imperial Navy, following U.S. dive-bomber strikes launched from aircraft carriers Yorktown and Bunker Hill, of Carrier Task Force 58, in March 1944. Join Sam Scott of Sam's Dive Tours as he leads another exciting and informative tour of Palau's historic WWII "Lost Fleet". Documented by acclaimed underwater photographer and videographer Kevin Davidson, the program includes slide shows, movies and historical presentations.

June 1 - June 9, 2004: WWII Military Aircraft Wrecks Tour

Join in the continuing search for U.S. and Japanese military aircraft lost during WWII combat operations over Palau during 1944. Program includes wreck dives, snorkeling, hikes to crash sites, historical presentations, slide shows, movies and expeditionary dives in the continuing search for missing aircraft of the U.S. 5th Air Fleet.

Sept. 13, 2004: "USS Perry, DMS-17" Memorial Dive Expedition

Matthew Young of Palau Technical Divers, IANTD Instructor and professional guide leads an historic memorial dive expedition on the only U.S. warship lost during WWII operations in Palau, on the 60th anniversary of its' sinking. On behalf of the USS Perry Survivors Association, a memorial plaque will be placed on-board the wreck honoring their comrades who paid the ultimate price on September 13, 1944. USS Perry is located near the remote island of Anguar at a depth of 260 feet and is open to Trimix certified divers only. Acclaimed underwater videographer Kevin Davidson will document the expedition.

Sept. 15 - 22, 2004: "Operation Stalemate" - Assault on Peleliu & Angaur

Tracing the history of WWII throughout Palau, participants explore the fortifications, wrecks, and artifacts that bear testament to some of WWII's toughest battles. This comprehensive tour is a must for WWII history buffs and culminates in a visit to historic Bloody Nose Ridge, on the 60th Anniversary of Peleliu's liberation by U.S. Marines. Ron Leidich of Planet Blue Kayak Tours an American ex-pat marine biologist and "by far the best WWII guide in Palau" leads this fascinating tour.
