''Did you see those red fish with the big eyes?'' ''The ones with the pointy tails or the ones with the ridges?'' ''No, the medium-sized ones with the curved tails.'' ''Did they have those long things on that back fin thing?'' If you've ever had this type of frustrating conversation (and who hasn't?), then you should consider taking PADI's Underwater Naturalist course or Project AWARE's Fish Identification course. Both courses will teach you how to identify fish species and other marine animals. These courses will explain the do's and don'ts of marine life interaction and dispel the myths. You'll also learn how to plan your dives to enhance your interaction experience and organize your data afterwards. Then when someone tells you they saw a squirrelfish, you'll know to ask them which one of the five squirrelfish species they saw.Other Fish I.D.
