When the PADI Diving Society went out to look for the inaugural Diving
Society event, the decision took about five seconds to make. From the
beginning of diving, Grand Cayman has been a dominant force in defining the
lifestyle that embodies our sport.
Set on a coastal road about one mile south of George Town, Sunset House is a
well-recommended middle-bracket dive resort whose rooms are divided among a
quintet of two-story pink-sided outbuildings situated in a predominantly
residential area of Grand Cayman.
Recognized as the birthplace of recreational diving in the Caribbean, the
Cayman Islands offers a spectacular underwater playground of pristine walls,
fascinating shipwrecks, shallow reefs, and crystal waters, attracting divers
from around the globe.
Here in Cayman we are in the middle of turtle breeding season, and divers
diving with Ocean Frontiers, on the East End of the island are getting a
little more than a PG-13 show.
