These three dives by Blackbeard’s Cruises and the Aqua Cat are ones you won’t want to miss out on.

Aboard Blackbeard's Cruises: The Washing Machine’s Spin

The dive starts on deck of the Morning Star. Anticipation is emanate, how could it not be with a drift dive by the name of “the Washing Machine.” Its oceanic swirl is going to corkscrew you until it releases you off a small sea ledge. When you are finally released, you will see a large patch of reef and a beautiful view of sea turtles and nurse sharks.

Aboard the Aqua Cat: Traveling the Wax Cay Cut

It’s easy to get lost in this dive. The current carries you at a speed up to 2 knots, and there is nothing you can really do about it. Only schools of angelfish and reef fish defy the current. After 30-45 minutes the cut begins slows, and you are treated to an unexpected finale: a pod of twenty sleeping nurse sharks piled together like a rugby scrum on the grassy ocean floor.

Aboard the Aqua Cat: Shark Feed and Wreck Dive in One

The stage is a 90-foot-long intact wreck: a former Bahamian Defense Force cutter. The setting is the gin-clear waters of the Bahamas’ Exuma Cays. The character is you. The action is nearly choreographed as hoards of sharks, Yellowtail snapper, Queen triggerfish and giant Nassau grouper work in an elegant unison to each get their bite. Divemasters add plot twists, breaking off pieces of the frozen chumcicle with their metal pokers—playing servers for the hoards of marine life.
