60:Second ScubaLab: Akona <10 lbs Roller Bag

Akona’s less than 10 pound roller bag is a travelers dream. Made of lightweight, durable nylon the bag has a cavernous main compartment, which easily handles a full complement of dive gear, including fins. There’s also a pocket on the front lid, two external side pockets and one internal mesh pocket. The right-side pocket is three-dimensional to maximize storage space, while the left-side pocket features an organizer perfect for stashing smaller items. Fully loaded, the bag stands rock solid on its treaded wheels, and the tow handle locks in its extended position, allowing excellent control. With both internal and external compression straps, it’s easy to cinch down a partial load to keep gear from shifting. The bag is part of Akona’s total travel system, which includes the less than 7 pound roller bag, a carry-on version of the full-sized bag, and the less than 3 pound shoulder-slung duffel, designed to be stacked on the top of either roller bag for easy transporting.
