ScubaLab First Look: Bare Drysuit, Watershot Lighting Kit, SeaDoo RS1

BARE XCS2 TECH DRY DRYSUIT

A new-generation neoprene drysuit, the XCS2 Tech Dry is made with a 2 mm hypercompressed neoprene that’s sandwiched between a tough nylon laminate on the outside and a high-stretch laminate on the inside. All three layers work together to allow you to get a snug fit without sacrificing range of motion. A new, no-stitch technology incorporates double heat tape that doesn’t interfere with the suit’s stretchy qualities. Price: $2,100; baresports.com.

WATERSHOT V1800 ACTION SPORTS CAMERA LIGHTING KIT

Pair the GoPro camera with Watershot’s lighting kit to enhance its close-in capabilities. The kit uses a 1,800-lumen video light that’s configured with a mounting bracket, and is powered by Watershot’s eGrip rechargeable batteries. The light delivers an evenly distributed 75-degree flood beam, offering 1.5 hours of illumination when set on full power and up to six hours when set to low. The light offers four modes: high, medium, low and strobe. The eGrip battery mounts on one end, and the camera mounts on the other end of the bracket. The system can be configured with the camera in front or off to the side of the eGrip. The kit includes all the items shown in the photo except for the GoPro camera and GoPro tripod mount. Price: $979; watershot.com.

SEADOO SEASCOOTER RS1

The big news in Seascooter’s new RS line of DPVs is the introduction of a lithium-ion battery that not only ramps up the run time between charges but makes recharging less of a hassle. These cutting-edge lithium-ion batteries are feather light compared with traditional scooter batteries, plus they’re friendlier to the environment. Of the three models in the Seascooter RS line, the RS1 is the big dog. It will crank out speeds of more than 4 mph. The best news: All of this propulsion power is packed into a unit weighing only 21 pounds. Price: $1,399; seadooseascooter.com
