Video: Shark Rescue in the Bahamas - Divers Remove Choke Rope

In this dramatic video, divers with Stuart Cove's Dive Bahamas remove a rope that had entangled a shark. The shark had been in the feeding area earlier, and the divers noticed the rope, which had clearly been digging into the skin of the shark and was probably causing the shark discomfort.

It almost seems as if the shark is asking for help as it gently swims up to the divers and allows them to cut the rope away. After they were able to free the shark from the rope, it returned and allowed the feeders to initiate tonic immobility. They have since named the shark "Lucy," and expect to see the shark in the area again.

We applaud the efforts of the divers who removed the rope — great work!
