Exhilarating diving, culinary delights and authentic cultural experiences await at the second annual Bahamas Dive Week — this year, the islands will host two separate Bahamas Dive Weeks! The events take place on two dreamy tropical islands, Grand Bahama and Paradise Island, with each destination offering five days of customised two-tank dives, mouth-watering cuisine and stellar cultural attractions. Participants will enjoy famous underwater sites such as Tiger Beach and the James Bond Wrecks, plus enticing local excursions, making this a welcoming escape for even a non-diver. Bahamas Dive Week guarantees plenty of diving as well as time for post-dive pleasures.

Dive Week puts both islands’ quintessential points of interest on display, in two uniquely Bahamian experiences that will connect dive ambassadors, operators, local businesses and participants. Regardless of your ability or holiday desires, this is your chance to get away from the ordinary. All you need to bring is a spirit of discovery and a willingness to relax, dive and play.

Steven Johnson, General Manager at the Bahamas Ministry of Tourism, welcomes divers back to the shores of The Bahamas. “Our 1st Dive Week in Grand Bahama was resoundingly successful, and we could not have been more pleased with the wonderful outcome and feedback we received from the divers who participated. The high interest shown from last year’s capacity-filled even has resulted in our decision to host the 2nd Annual Grand Bahamas Dive Week, 22 – 28 May 2022, with an expanded and additional Dive Week program to be held in Nassau, 11 – 18 June 2022.”

Apart from being one of the few places on earth where shark encounters are almost guaranteed, the islands are also acclaimed as a photographer’s dream. A perennial winner in Scuba Diving Magazine Readers Choice Awards for the Caribbean/Atlantic region, The Bahamas earned several accolades in 2022. The islands placed in the top 10 in every category, with a firstplace award for Big Animal Encounters and a secondplace ranking for both Wreck Diving and Cave/Cavern Diving. Diving adventures here are iconic, exciting and unmatched.

Even better: Getting to The Bahamas couldn’t be easier. The islands are just 50 miles southeast of Florida and a quick flight from anywhere in the USA. You could be dipping your toes into irresistibly clear waters on the same day as your arrival, in less time than it takes to unpack your suitcase.

This year, Bahamas Dive Week will be held in both Freeport and Nassau. Participants can choose to visit an island they’ve visited before or have never been to — either way, they will not want to leave.

Join us on one of our upcoming Dive Weeks and stop daydreaming of far-off destinations. Recharge and experience nature, Bahamian-style.
